“This will make our purpose necessary, and not envious “ this quotation clearly shows that Brutus is honourable and is as well a loyal friend because it makes us know that he isn’t killing him out of envy but because he feels it is for an honourable cause. Honour and loyalty drove Brutus into killing Caesar because he felt it was what was best for the Roman republic and that it was the people’s desire and the only way to prove that he was a loyal Roman and was honourable was to kill Caesar.

Everything Brutus did in the play was obviously guided by an honourable cause. In the play Brutus is characterized as being very honourable and I think he was motivated by it because he wanted to maintain a good public image. In the play Cassuis kept telling him how honourable the people considered him to be and he wanted to maintain it. As a result of this he was ready to do anything in the name of honour this is clearly shown in act one scene two where he says, “Let the gods so speed me as I love the name of honour more than I fear death.” This clearly tells us that honour is his number one priority and was ready to go any length to ensure that he doesn’t loose an honourable name. Also because of the fact that he was motivated by honour, he thought a lot before joining the conspiracy. He had to totally convince himself that he was doing it for an honorable cause before he joined the conspiracy. Even when he agreed to join the conspiracy he decided that he would kill him in a way that would show that he wasn’t doing it for selfish reasons but for an honourable cause and this is clearly seen in act two scene two where he says, ”Let us kill him boldly and not wrathfully; Lets carve as a dish fit for gods and not carcass fit for hounds.” This quotation clearly shows that even though he is killing Caesar he wants to do it in a way that would indeed prove him to be an honourable man and if you read the play further down he says that they would be called purgers not murderers this shows that cares a lot about what people think of him and isn’t willing to soil his name. All this tells us of how honourable Brutus was and that he didn’t kill Caesar for hate but for honour.

Another thing that made Brutus act the way he did was the fact that he was very loyal to the Roman republic, to Caesar as a friend, and the Roman people. Brutus was loyal to the Roman republic because he genuinely loved it and liked the fact that it was democratic and didn’t want anyone to come and become a tyrant. He was also loyal to Caesar because he loved Caesar as a friend and wouldn’t want to harm him. As a result of the how loyal he was to the republic he killed Caesar even though he loved him so much because he felt that Caesar might be a tyrant and that that would ruin the republic. This is clearly shown in act two scene one where he says, “ It must be by his death and for my part I know no personal cause to spurn at it but for the general” This clearly shows that he did it simply for the republic because he loved him. It is also very clear that he was loyal to the people and thought they wanted Caesar dead because of Cassuis letters. This is shown where he said” O Rome I make thee a promise, if the redress will follow that received.” All this just proves Brutus to be truly loyal and not selfish.

As said in the beginning Brutus wanted to do it for the republic and not for jealousy. This cause clearly proves him to be indeed loyal and honourable and he indeed thought a lot because of this and tried to always do what was right. In the end he still didn’t get what he wanted because the republic hated him and made war.

Ideas and Content
My essay has reliable information about two distinct characteristics of Brutus. My essay discusses the given topic clearly and concentration is visible. The essay depicts my knowledge about Brutus' attitude. It gives proof of content and the context is usually referred back to. I could improve the content of my essay by explaining the quotations a bit more. I could also improve my essay by spending less time on irrelevant things.

Organization

My essay begins with a clearly focused thesis statement. Also all the paragraphs begin with statements that summarize the content of the paragraph. They also end with a conclusion telling you the claim made. However the essay could be more organized if I started it with a very interesting hook. It could also be improved if I did it with a little more flexibility and not so systematically. I could have aso worked harder to make my conclusion a little more creative.

Collage Reflection

Think Creatively
My collage depicts some creativity because it is divided into two sides. The first side shows the hard life of the lost boys, while the second side shows what their future can be. The point is further established with the help of the 3-D images used on both sides of the collage. On the first side, fire is used to show the hardship they have been through while on the second side, a dove is used to represent the peaceful future they can have. Also in the middle I put some words saying "This can be our future with your help" and an arrow pointing to the second side to show what I am referring to. I also think it was creative because of all the overlapping pictures used to achieve texture.

Reason Critically
I used the images to highlight my understanding of the lost boys situation by using war pictures to show their hardship. I also used fire to show the extent to which they suffered.I also recognised the fact that they heavily depended on the UN and support from people by putting the UN symbol and putting statements like "help us", "this can be our future with your help"," a little help can make a big difference", "help us", "be a life changer".

Communicate Effectively
I think the collage very much helps pass my message across. In this collage, you aren't only told about their hardships, but also what can help them come out of this situation. This clearly portrays the message my memoir carries that with help their condition isn't permanent. The collage is made to be like a journey, from hardship to success with help. This collage tells you that although this isn't achieved already, your step to help can make it happen.

Live Ethically
This collage helps in creating empathy in the mind of the viewer with all the pictures showing dead people, signs of sadness, danger, and so on. At the sight of this I believe the viewer would be moved with pity and motivated to help.

ADJUSTING TO CULTURE CHANGE

Adjusting to American culture for Peter was very difficult because it was different from what he was used to. While in Kenya he said America was like heaven but when he got there it was quite different from what he expected. Peter had faced a lot in his early life, first he had had to escape from his own country because of a war, went to Ethiopia but they weren't accepted so they had to take refuge in Kenya. He had just come from a refugee camp in Kenya and had been a refugee for most of his life so life in America was very different for him.

First of all although he had an English background as a student, he couldn't speak English excellently well like every other person in America. This never really bothered him while in Kenya because they had another language of communication and he could speak it as much as everyone else and like him most people couldn't speak English excellently well. When he was in America he had to struggle to make his English better and he also felt different from others because he couldn't speak English well so this affected his ability to settle down and enjoy America. He managed to adjust to this new language because it wasn't totally new to him and did his best to speak it like every other person.

He also found it difficult to settle down because so many things stopped him from being able to socialize with the people. First he saw his skin colour as being different from that of every other person in America even the African-Americans were a little fairer than himself and as a result he felt so ashamed and couldn't socialize with a lot of people but after some time, he realized that this didn't really matter, after all the African- Americans made him feel very welcome. So many people would tell him that they were from African descant so this made him feel a lot more comfortable among them. The way this people got their food was far different from what he was used to get it back at the refugee camp. At the refugee camp, food was naturally rationed for everyone but here he had work and go to the shops and buy food. Even though this was different for him, he didn't just sit there and allow himself to starve he worked extra hard to make sure he survived. Before he left Sudan his father died and he couldn't find his mother and at his school he thought there were a lot of rich kids and being a child without parents, he felt inferior to the other children and this also affected him. This may have affected him but didn't stop him from pursuing his education and at the end, the result was evident as he got into the government honour roll and was qualified to further pursue his education. At a christian fellowship he was asked if he had a girl friend and he said no because he didn't know how to get one in America and this shows how different he felt. At the fellowships they sang songs he didn't know and he wasn't used to and so he felt left out. Although he felt left out, he still continued to try to make friends. His feeling of being left out also hugely affected his ability to settle down and he did his best to overcome it.

All these things made the Peter and other Lost boys unable to fit in so easily. This makes them realize that there isn't a place like home and they miss their old life so much but they didn't let this make them forget their mission to bring hope to their country
